Kevin Hines survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Not many people can say that. The moment he jumped he immediately regretted it. It makes you wonder how many other people regretted it, but weren’t fortunate like Hines was.
The link below is an article the was writen by Dayna Whitmer and David Woods. It focuses on the cost effectiveness, but is not limited to just that. It also covers the different methods of suicide here in the Bay Area. The biggest argument is “if you stop them they’ll find another way to do it.” Well thats not completely true in all cases. There has actually been a decrease in other methods of suicide, and an increase in jumping related deaths…mainly off the bridge. I can assure you the article is worth reading.
