Personal Studio Time - Booking Procedures
1. Check for Availability
First-off, before you make a request for any of the above, check the Online Schedule: schedule.expression.edu. The page will open up with a calendar navigation tool at the top, and today’s schedule shown as a graph with the Room names down the right side and the time slots across the top. Match up the time of day with the room you want to see if it is available. You can also check your class schedule from this site.
2. Make a Request
Complete the Studio Booking form at least 5 full business days in advance (a business day is Monday-Friday 8a-5p, excluding Holidays). Please make sure all fields of the form are complete before submitting.
*New Field in Studio Booking Form (updated 4/2013)
Please select your current Course Director. If you do not see your instructor listed, you may choose your Program Director. The instructor will then receive the request, and e-mail the Studio Manager their approval if so granted. You will no longer need to track down your instructors for their signatures – their e-mail approval will serve as the signature. The new Rules of Booking form will only require your signature.
You will receive a response stating whether the requested time can be reserved for you. If the time can be reserved, you will receive instructions to complete a Rules for Booking (PDF) form and return it to Audrey Howard for confirmation. (Audrey Howard is located in Office 200 of the West End of the building (make a left at the photos from past Ex’pression Sessions).)
3. Reserve Equipment (if applicable)
Please visit the Equipment Room page to reserve gear for your session. You will need to include the date, time, and location of your session on the gear reservation form, available at http://students.expression.edu/equipment-room.
Extra Lab Time - Booking Procedures
If you need extra time outside of regularly scheduled classes and labs to complete a graded project, to prepare for a quiz, or to practice for a performance evaluation, you may reserve up to 20 hours per month in the appropriate room. For example, while you can’t reserve the SSL 6000 for personal lab time until you are done with IRP 2, you are allowed to reserve it to practice for your BRP 2 performance eval.
(If your group would like to hire a tutor to assist in your review session, please visit the Academic Assistance page. There are dedicated tutors for BRP to aid those students in reviewing for the final or performance eval.)
