Seung Jang Kim |
Join us for our next Ex’pert Series featuring Seung Jang Kim. Seung Jang Kim, otherwise known as Jack Kim by his American friends, is a lead modeler at Tippett Studio in Berkeley. He credits three people as being pivotal and influential on his journey to becoming an artist–his father, Nam June Paik, and Phil Tippett. Seung’s father, an accomplished fine artist, encouraged Seung to pursue sculpting at his University in Korea. It was there he studied working with clay, wood, stone, and metal. Later in his career, Seung began working with Nam June Paik, who is considered to be the founder of video art. Finally, his current boss Phil Tippett, who is full of passion and creativity has been a big influence on Seung’s professional career. Tippett’s outstanding work in the stop motion CG generated world has provided Seung the opportunity to work on recent movies such as Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Ted, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Through his journey in life, Seung would like to acknowledge that it has been Jesus that has gotten him to where he is today. Modeling reel review following presentation & Alumni Association Raffle.
