Who are you?
My name is Savannah Rios.
What brings you to Ex’pression College?
I came to Ex’pression because I wanted to study Game Arts and Design. Kingdom Hearts was what started me to become a game artist. Some of the characters in Kingdom Hearts are also in another game called Final Fantasy and I fell in love with their graphics. The characters looked amazing and the landscapes were so beautiful. It showed me what graphic designing could do.
What drives your creatively? What do you create?
I watch a lot of anime and animated movies. I’m really into fantasy, action, and romance. I made these stories that have all of that in them and each story makes me think of other stories I can do. All of them are also really tragic, which I can’t help but have them that way. I’m trying to have them less tragic, but that can only work after I have the really tragic part in it.
What would you like to be doing ten years from now?
In 10 years, I see myself working with Pixar and maybe be able to work with Square Enix, who made Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.
What are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences would have to be a lot of anime and animated movies, like Disney and Pixar movies. Square Enix is another influenced I had and also Monty Oum. Monty Oum created RWBY, 2 to 3 years ago, which is really popular and amazing to watch. He was really inspiring and I wanted to go and meet him, but he passed away early this year. But his still is an influence to me and many other people.
