What is the film about?
This film will tell the story of Ryan as he struggled to figure out how he wanted to move forward towards his career and the process involved in moving away from those who are close to him.
The story will consist as most do of 3 parts; beginning, middle, and end. The beginning of the story will have a brief introduction of Ryan and the short reason as to why he moved. The middle will go into further detail of his motivations for moving along with the struggles that he faced when moving. The end will explain his hopes for the future and what drives him moving forward.
Ryan is a college grad who was faced with the hard choice of not knowing what to do with his life. Figuring out what to do with your life is not always easy. Some people never figure it out, while others know all their lives. He moved to California to come to school for Motion Graphic Design, because it was a career path that he could see himself being happy in. It took a lot to get to that decision, and a part of that was figuring out what he didn’t like before he could learn what he did like.
Why California? Why Motion Graphics? The motivations behind the decision to pursue motion graphics and the decision to move will be talked about in the middle section of this story. This is also where interview footage of other people will take place. There’s a few other people that have done similar moves that can share their experience as well. We will also include interviews of friends and family and how they were affected by this decision. There will definitely be discussion about the career paths that Ryan tried before deciding on motion graphics, as well as other influencing factors (cost, politics, etc) that helped along the way.
This is the part where we will talk about the future. Life is just the pursuit of happiness, and in this ending section we can talk about how Ryan’s decision to go back to school, his hopeful career, and where he’s ended up give hope for the future.

Motion graphics to demonstrate certain points
This documentary will probably be a mix of expository and interview driven. The narration will help drive the story, and the interviews will help focus audience attention and bring in the human element to the story. Using these elements, expand on the struggle involved in leaving behind family and friends as well as coming to terms with what you want to do for a career choice.
What’s the point?
This is the big question and driving force for the story – why I want to share it. I want to bring attention to the struggle involved with finding out who you are and how to move forward from there. The moral of the story is about how life goes on and you have to actively pursue happiness.
