FAQ

I want to plan a vacation next year. How do I find out when the breaks are?

You can view the school breaks and the starts and ends of terms on the Master Calendar and Im’portant Dates Calendar. Please be advised there is a separate calendar for students on the 5 Week track and the 8 Week track. Files are Excel Spreadsheets and will open a download box. (Don’t have Excel? You can download and use Open Office to access word processing docs, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. Get Open Office here.)

I got a letter telling me I'm on Academic Probation. What does this mean?

Satisfactory Academic Progress is evaluated at the end of each student’s semester. A semester is comprised of three consecutive terms/blocks. If a student does not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress, they will be placed on Academic Probation. Please visit the Academic Probation and Attendance page for more information.

Can I test out of a course?

Students may have the opportunity to test out of some courses up to 30 days prior to the first scheduled day of the class.  Proficiency exams may only be attempted once.  Students may not attempt to test out of any course which they have previously attended. Proficiency Exams will not be allowed in a student’s last semester. Arrangements for exams are made through the Office of the Registrar. For more details about proficiency exams please check out our Proficiency Exam page.

Where can I check my schedule and grades?

Student schedules and grades are posted on the Portal.  In order to view your Portal, you will need to create an account.  Click on “Ex’pression Portal Student Secure Log-in” then “Create New Account.”

Schedule

Once logged in to Portal, you can view your schedule by clicking on “My Profile” then “My Calendar” from the menu on the left side of the screen. Course codes will show up on the days that you have class and lab. If you click on the course code, another screen will open up with smaller calendars with light blue boxes indicating which days you have class. If you roll your mouse over the blue boxes, a pop up window will display the instructor, time and location of the class or lab.

Grades

To view your grades in portal, click on “Academics” then “View My Grades” from the menu on the left side of the screen. Be sure to choose the correct enrollment and term.

Is there a way I can check my attendance?

Log-in to Portal and on the side menu, click on “Academics” then “View Attendance.”

Where can I update my contact information?

There are two ways to update your contact information…

  • You may update your contact information by filling out a Student Request Form, which can also be found outside the Student Services area, to the left of the purples doors. Once you complete the form, you can drop the form in the Registrar’s drop box and they will update your contact info.
  • You may also update your contact information through Portal.  After logging in to Portal, click on “My Profile” – “My Information” – “Addresses” then choose “Request Change” for the address that you would like to change (billing, mailing, home).
