Hello Ex’pressionists!

Are you ready for the first day of the rest of your life? Part of making your passion your profession is being well equipped to do so! Here are some highlights of what you need to know before you start…

Orientation

Orientation will take place on Friday, July 7, 2017. Please check in at the Lobby at 12:00 p.m. Orientation will last until approximately 3:00 p.m. Please review the New Student Checklist for what you will need for Orientation day.

New Student Checklist

Review the New Student Checklist to ensure you’re off to a good start for your first week of class.

Student Email

logging into your new student email is easy. This is a google account so all you need to do is go to gmail and add account. Enter your new expression email account, which will be “your student “ID” .us@saeinstitute.edu”. So if your student ID number is “12345” your email would look like this 12345.us@saeinstitute.edu. After you finish adding your new email, google will ask for a password. Your temporary password is “Campus12” with a capital C.

After you enter this password google will ask you to change your password. Please be sure to save all this info as we do not have access to you’re new gmail accounts, and can not rest them for you.

If you have any questions or concerns just hang tight, as we will review this during orientation day.  Also, you can always contact Sean Rodriquez in the office of Student Affairs with any questions. s.rodriquez@expression.edu or at (510) 637-7310.

Student Portal

You must sign up for Portal in order to create a student account and log into any computer at Ex’pression. This is also how you will be able to access your schedule, grades, and financial aid information online.  Please go to portal.expression.edu to sign up.

Click on the link that says ‘Ex’pression Portal Secure Student Log In’.

Click on the link that says ‘Create a New Account‘.

It will then prompt you to input your social security number (please include dashes!), your first, and last name, along with the city you were born. It will confirm your email address. You will then receive an authentication email (sometimes our emails go to bulk or spam folders, so if you don’t see the email in your in-box please be sure to check these alternate folders). Click on the link provided to verify your account. Once your account is validated you will set up your Username and Password.

portal might ask you to “Complete an essay before you start”, however, you do not need to worry about this. No essay is required for you to start!!! If you have any questions please contact Sean Rodriquez in the Office of Student Affairs (510) 637-7310.
