Introducing the Team
Hayoung Jo (Director)
Don’t be fooled by my Korean name. Although I go by this name, I lived in the U.S. for the majority of my life. If it’s too hard to remember, you can call me Glory. I’m currently studying Animation and Visual Effects at Ex’pression College. Hopefully, I can work in an animation industry, and contribute in making enjoyable and meaningful animated films. I just love the idea of creating breathtaking new worlds and lovable characters. I lived in America for 15 years now, but I still have love for Korean culture. I may even know more about Korean pop culture than America’s. I feel so left out whenever my non-Asian friends talk about American shows and stars. Well, I guess it’s more like I have lots of Korean pride. I even listen to more Korean music and watch Korean shows!
Evan Brown (Sound Design)
Maybe you can guess but my name is Evan Brown and i’m from Santa Rosa, CA. I’m a student at Expressions digital media school in Emeryville, CA and I’m a study of the Sound Arts. I really enjoy exploring sound and different styles of music. For this project, taking a look into Korean Pop culture will be nothing short of an interesting experience. I hope to meet some interesting fans and put together a story that will be more than capable of explaining KPop to all sorts of fans, new and old.
Charlie Weatherford (Cinematographer)
I’m 19 and currently enrolled at Ex’pression college in the Game Art & Design program. I really want to use my ideas that I have from playing so many video games and turn that into a game of my own through art or music. I think that Korean music culture is very interesting and I think this project will bring insight into why a lot of people love it so much.
Todd Singleton (Sound Design)
I attend Ex’pression College striving to graduate in the Sound Arts program. The drive and passion comes from the music inspiration and what I mean by that is I want to express and tell stories, mine and others too. Music and Media used together can have power. Move people even. Ten years from I will be director of my own studio and owning a label. I love Create music and produce as well as make media such as videos or films. K-Pop being entirely new to me I am excited to learn about this genre and to lean about the culture of the music and fans.
