    Hello Ex’pression Students,

The Ex’pression Student Chapter of the AES is proud to host Grammy award winning engineer Leslie Ann Jones for a seminar on classical instrument recording techniques in the SSL 9000 studio on July 9th between 1-3pm. The event will feature a discussion of the approach to classical music production she has developed as both a successful independent recordist and while in her current position as head of Skywalker Sound’s Recording and Scoring Department. This will be followed by a performance and recording of the Lowell Trio (piano, oboe and cello), where attendees will have the opportunity to compare the live experience to the recorded balance created by Ms. Jones. There will also be a Q&A opportunity to ask one of the most respected engineers in the industry your questions – don’t miss this chance to get some insights from a master of the craft!

Seating will be very limited, and Ex’pression AES student members will have priority. Remaining seats will be offered to members of Grammy U and the Women’s Audio Mission. To secure a seat RSVP to Ian Duran at iduran87@gmail.com. Please include your first and last name and specify whether you are an AES, Grammy U, or WAM member. Seating will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Please RSVP as soon as possible.
