Kevin Griffin

He dropped out of high school in the late sixties to pursue a career as a rock guitarist. When his band disbanded, he felt lost, upset, and turned to alcohol. Buddhism helped him get back on track and after he became sober he returned to school, earning a BA in English from UC Berkeley and MFA in Creative Writing from UC Irvine. He began teaching meditation, and worked as a technical writer. He still plays the guitar and writes rock songs related to Buddhism.

He is a Buddhist author, teacher, and innovator in the field of addiction treatment. He is a successful leader in the mindful recovery movement.

Noah Levine

In his teenage years he was part of the rebellious youths who listened to punk rock, and experimented with drugs and alcohol. In prison he came to a realization that his destructive protests to society weren’t going to get him anywhere. He looked for an alternative to release his anger and suffering. Although at first put off from meditation, thinking that it was only a new age hippy thing to do, he gave it a try and discovered that it calmed his anger and awakened his inner compassion.

He is now a Buddhist teacher, author of the books “Dharma Punx” and “Against the Stream”, and has a masters in counseling psychology from CIIS . He teaches meditation classes, workshops, and also mindfulness to groups in juvenile halls and prisons.

Who I Am

Hello! My name is Lisa Byrnes.

I made the decision to attend Ex’pression College to pursue my passion of working in the game design industry.

What inspires me to create are my dreams, fantasy genre music and computer games, and elements from Victorian and the Medieval time period.

Ten years from now I’d like to be part of the process of designing games, whether it be modeling the environments, animating the characters, or creating the interactive elements.

My biggest influences are to create games that have an unique effect on people, games which evoke positive emotions or the thrill of adventure and discovery, also games which strive to educate people in a unique and fun way.

I have an AA in Interactive Media Design from Santa Rosa Junior College. At SRJC I had experience with building a website for a junior college class project, editing video, and at Ex’pression College I further developed my drawing skills, I can look at an object and draw what I see realistically.
