About this blog

The topic of this blog is the furry community and those found inside it. The furry community, and furries in general, are a misunderstood and misrepresented part of humanity. People don’t like what they don’t understand. Ignorance can lead to hate and no one deserves to be hated, especially for something that doesn’t hurt anyone else.
There is no distinction in terms of age, race, religion, country of origin, or gender when it comes to the furry community. They can be found all over the world in varying numbers. However, the easiest place to find them is on the internet, which should come as no surprise; the internet is the easiest place to find anything. There are several large terran conventions, which I will discuss in this blog.
As with most misunderstood subcultures, the furry community has received more than its fair share of negative publicity. This blog will seek to dispel some of the damaging stereotypes that mass media has bestowed upon them.  Many people first heard of furries in one of two places: the furry episode of CSI and an episode of Taboo on Nat Geo Wild. Both of these programs showed a small sampling of the entire furry population because it made for good TV. As we all know, correct information hardly ever makes for good prime time TV.  Some of the specific topics I will cover are
Bestiality and Zoophilia
Species dysphoria
I recognize that attaching my name in a positive sense to this topic could endanger future occupation prospects, but my hope is that mindsets like those that would refuse to hire me due to this blog are the ones that I will be able to change simply by removing the mystery and confusion surrounding this community. I have many friends that identify as furries and they are all wonderful people. It is my hope to remove the stigma surrounding these wonderful people.
