Welcome to a list of scholarships provided to you by your Financial Aid Department!

Various organizations offer scholarships to those who qualify.  Below is a listing of possible scholarships available in each program area that may be of interest to you.  This scholarship newsletter is not an all-inclusive list of scholarship information.  It only contains scholarships that the Financial Aid Office believe may be of interest to students of Ex’pression College for Digital Arts.  The Financial Aid Office highly encourages independent searching of scholarships year round.

The Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) is a non-profit organization established to educate the masses in regards to interactive audio by providing information, instruction, resources, guidance and enlightenment not only to its members, but to content providers and listeners throughout the world. Established in 1988, the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of The Future Contest is an ongoing merit competition for new and amateur artists. Run on a quarterly basis, an eligible entry is comprised of three science fiction/fantasy illustrations done in a black & white medium rendered from the artist’s imagination. Should the artist win with this entry, he is then sent a story from the companion L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest for which to render an illustration.  This illustration then becomes his or her entry in the yearly Grand Prize competition. Three winners are selected each quarter and are awarded $500 each; the yearly Grand Prize winner is awarded $4000. There is a limit of one entry per entrant per quarter, entrants retain all rights in their artwork, no entry fee is required, and judging is by professional artists only. Hard copy guidelines are strongly recommended and are obtainable by sending an SASE to the Contest address or submitting full name and mailing address via email.

Three scholarships will be awarded to the participant that creates the best viral video about “Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol”. The scholarship is open to anybody (high school students, college student and/or film enthusiasts). Video winners will be selected based on a number of categories including, creativity, entertainment value, video quality and of course the viral nature of the video (i.e. video views, social validation, etc.)

Everest Nutrition, a leader in providing superior quality nutraceutical supplements across North America, is pleased to announce its ‘Krill Oil –Educate Your Heart’ scholarship.

 

Everest Nutrition’s Krill Oil will be giving $1,000 to two students, pursuing further education beyond a high school level, as part of the ‘Krill Oil – Educate Your Heart’ program!

 

Interested participants must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Eligibility is for any student currently enrolled in the Fall 2013 term at any college, university, trade or technical school within the United States or Canada. Students must maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 (or the equivalent).
  • Students must be 16 years or older at the time of enrollment.
  • Must be an American or Canadian citizen or hold a valid student visa.
  • Winning participants will be required to submit a photo for promotional purposes

Eligible students must submit an essay written around one of the two following questions:

•    How has the importance of heart health impacted you, your family, or your community?
•    How can an individual change his or her lifestyle to promote a healthy heart and holistic well-being?

The top two essays will be chosen based on originality and creativity, but must also include:

•     A title.
•    A minimum of 500 words in length with a maximum of 1,000.
•    Proper citation of any and all research material used.

Each applicant may only submit one essay for consideration. Submissions should be sent via e-mail along with a cover letter including: legal name, mailing address, telephone number, a brief biography and the name of the school the applicant will be enrolled in for the Fall 2013 semester to Sandra.Goldstein@krilloil.com.
The deadline for essay submissions is Friday, July 5th, 2013.

Winners will be announced Friday, July 19th, 2013 on the krilloil.com scholarship page.  Scholarships will be paid out to successful applicants on Friday, August 2nd, 2013.

2013 Computer and Video Game Design Scholarship Program

In 2007 the ESA Foundation established a scholarship program to assist women and minority students who are pursuing degrees leading to careers in Computer & Video Game Arts. In 2009 we extended this opportunity to graduating high school seniors and doubled the amount of awards granted from 15 to 30.

The scholarships are offered for full-time undergraduate study at accredited four-year colleges and universities in the USA.  Up to 30 scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded annually, 15 to graduating high school seniors and 15 to current college students.

Applicants must be:

  • Women or minority students,
  • Pursuing degrees leading to careers in computer and video game arts (high school seniors must already be accepted into a program),
  • Enrolling or enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States,
  • Maintaining a grade point average of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent), and
  • US citizens.
