Hey Students!
Join in the fun! Get your costume and your pumpkin carving skills ready because our annual Halloween Contest in coming up in a couple weeks. Have fun and good luck!
How to Enter:
Student Alliance will be hosting a Halloween Costume Contest. Enter the contest by having your photo taken in the East End on Halloween from 10AM to 1PM. Click here to see the schedule and the rules of the contest.
Voting:
Even if you don’t plan on entering, please vote for your favorite student costume by liking the photo of it on the Student Alliance Facebook page. A photo album will be set up labeled Halloween Costume Contest. Choose your favorite costume between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
Prizes:
Winners for each contest will receive Amazon gift cards in the amounts listed below:
1st Place $200
2nd Place $100
3rd Place $50
How to enter:
Enter the Pumpkin Carving Contest by bringing your pumpkin to the East End on Halloween, or you may carve your pumpkin on-site on between 10AM and 1PM.
You can reserve and pick-up a pumpkin in advance by emailing studentaffairs@expression.edu. Or, just show up to the East End and carve an available pumpkin! Reserved pumpkins may be picked up starting Thursday, October 24th at 2PM from the Office of Student Affairs (South Wing Student Services area) during usual office hours until Wednesday, October 30th at 5PM.
Voting:
Even if you don’t plan on entering the contest, we encourage you to vote for your favorite on the Student Alliance Facebook page. An album labeled Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest will be created. Like your favorite pumpkin photo to cast your vote! Carved pumpkins will also be on display at the Wall of Fame for voting in person. Timeline
10 am to 1 pm – Costumed entrants photographed
in the East End
1:30 to 3:30 pm – Voting begins on the Student Alliance Facebook page or in-person at the Wall of Fame.
3:30 pm – Winners of contests announced

Costume Contest Rules:
• Contestants must stop by the East End on Monday, October 31st, between 10am to 1pm to be photographed. Those who show up too late to get a photo taken cannot enter the contest.
• If you enter as a group, the prize will be divided evenly amongst the group.
• No inappropriate costumes (racist, sexist, homophobic, too revealing, etc.).
• No realistic looking weapons (realistic looking guns, swords or weaponry).
• No messy costume attire that cannot be easily cleaned up, will cause damage to the facility, or may drip on floors and cause injury by slipping. This includes blood, slime, or other make-up that drips.
• Voting will take place via Facebook or at the Wall of Fame from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
• Winners will be announced at 3:30 pm from the ex’radio booth.
• If there is a tie, those present at the time of announcing the winners will vote for a tiebreaker.
