Python, one of the most widely used languages in the CG industry, is a very powerful tool. Python can help you get results much faster and easier when working on anything technical such as lighting, rigging, modeling, simulation, rendering, compositing, and even animation. Get a competitive edge on other applicants, especially if you want to be that “go-to” person for any technical issues, Python will help you!

About Omar
Omar graduated in November 2009 from Ex’pression College and was very motivated to learn more about character rigging and the technical aspect of characters in general. While trying to get his “foot in the door,” Omar took classes, like Python, to learn new skills. The result – a position at Spy Post in San Francisco as a wrangler. Omar made many connections there, which led him to a job at Disney’s Imagemovers Digital as a TRA(Technical Resource Administrator). While there, Omar helped the team create and modify the pipeline tools and how they managed all shots of the film they were creating. Omar then moved to PDI/Dreamworks as a TRA, (Technical Rendering Administrator), where he managed all of Dreamworks’ movies and short films. Omar also lead the team in tool development using Python. Currently, Omar works as a character technical director, specializing in face rigging and creating pipeline tools for the department.

Omar’s credits include: PriestMars Needs MomsKung Fu Panda 2Puss in BootsMadagascar 3,Rise of the Guardians, The CroodsTurbo, and Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Before moving into the Character TD role, he also worked on How To Train Your Dragon 2HOME, and Penguins of Madagascar.
