UPDATE Pt 3: Possible BART Strike starting 10/15 and AC Transit strike 10/17

October 10, 2013 in Announcements by vicki

Here we go again (and again…)

Talks have been extended to Monday, October 14 at 11:59PM. If an agreement is not reached, there is a call for a strike to start Tuesday, October 15.

UPDATE: AC Transit has given a 72-hour notice to strike starting Thursday, October 17.

We suggest:

  • Visit alert.511.org for updated strike information and tips on commute alternatives.  511 provides resources for alternative travel modes, including transit trip planning, telecommuting, bicycling and help finding a carpool or vanpool.
  • Contact your instructor if you think you will be delayed due to the strike and make arrangements with fellow classmates for rideshare or to get caught up if you can’t make it in.
  • Do your best to plan ahead. BART could be running but may have limited service with delays.  You may have to take alternate trains with alternate schedules.
  • Check out 511 RideMatch Service, an online program that matches commuters with similar routes and schedules to find carpool partners or a vanpool group.
  • A strike will affect traffic for anyone on the road, not just those who use BART.  Please allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.

Good luck!
